Please take the time to read this through and understand the message. Please send it to every free person whom you know, it is so very important...

Study Shows Acai Berries May Kill Cancer Cells

(NaturalNews (http://www.naturalnews.com/z025403_acai_cancer_berries.html)) Acai (http://www.frnt.org/personalnaturals/index.php?main_page=product_info cPath=21 products_id=111) has only recently become an internationally popular super food. Yet it has been cherished by the native people of the Amazon for hundreds of years as a healing fruit. Modern Brazilians eat the acai berry because it tastes nice and is highly nutritious. The famous Gracie Jiu-Jitsu family recommended eating acai before workouts, and soccer players have been using the fruit as a natural energy booster. With its popularity skyrocketing, acai's anti cancer potential is being researched.

Acai berries (http://www.frnt.org/personalnaturals/index.php?main_page=product_info cPath=21 products_id=111) grow on palm trees in floodplain areas of the Amazon River. The berries are dark purple and about the size of a blueberry. Like blueberries, they are potent antioxidants.

What Makes Acai a Cancer Fighting Super Food?

Spirulina and Chlorella Aid Heavy Metal Detox

(NaturalNews (http://www.naturalnews.com/027740_spirulina_chlorella.html)) From aluminum in deodorant to mercury in dental fillings, metal toxicity comes at us from every angle these days. The presence of these heavy metals (and others such as arsenic, cadmium and lead) has increased as industrialization and its waste products spread. We can work to avoid these substances as much as possible, but some exposure will still occur at times. Since even small amounts of heavy metals in the body can cause negative side effects like fatigue, headaches, digestive problems and skin conditions, it's important to use natural methods to cleanse your body of these toxins.

Inflammation - The Fire Within

What is inflammation?

Inflammation is your body’s response to any harmful agent, such as something that can cause disease (e.g. bacteria, virus), an allergen or other irritant. In short, inflammation is your body’s natural response to something that causes irritation. Inflammation is a protective mechanism designed to remove the harmful agent as well as begin the healing process in the body.

The ultimate goal of inflammation is to seal off the area, kill the invaders, remove damaged tissue and cells, and rebuild the area. Essentially inflammation is like a small biological fire designed to “burn away” the irritation.

Ten Things You're Not Supposed to Know about the Swine Flu Vaccine

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews (http://www.naturalnews.com/026717_swine_flu_flu_vaccine_swine_flu_vaccine.html) Editor

Let's not beat around the bush on this issue: The swine flu vaccines now being prepared for mass injection into infants, children, teens and adults have never been tested and won't be tested before the injections begin. In Europe, where flu vaccines are typically tested on hundreds (or thousands) of people before being unleashed on the masses, the European Medicines Agency is allowing companies to skip the testing process entirely.

And yet, amazingly, people are lining up to take the vaccine, absent any safety testing whatsoever. When the National Institutes of Health in the U.S. announced a swine flu vaccine trial beginning in early August, it was inundated with phone calls and emails from people desperate to play the role of human guinea pigs. The power of fear to herd sheeple into vaccine injections is simply amazing...

IVF blunders destroy baby dreams of 100 Victorian patients

MORE than 100 Victorian patients have had their dreams of parenthood destroyed by IVF blunders.

The mistakes include destruction of embryos during a blackout, others lost when a clinic was flooded, fertilised embryos dropped on a floor and a woman giving birth to a boy after requesting only female embryos because of a genetic condition.

Pregnancy and Gestational Vitamin D Deficiency

In the last 3 years, an increasing amount of research suggests that
some of the damage done by Vitamin D deficiency is done in-utero, while
the fetus is developing. Much of that damage may be permanent, that is,
it can not be fully reversed by taking Vitamin D after birth. This
research indicates Vitamin D deficiency during pregnancy endangers the
mother's life and health, and is the origin for a host of future perils
for the child, especially for the child's brain and immune system. Some
of the damage done by maternal Vitamin D deficiency may not show up for
30 years. Let's start with the mother.

Do you have dull, falling hair? Are your fingernails brittle and splitting? Do you have a digestive disorder?

Maybe silica is the solution for you.

Silica is classified as a trace mineral requiring regular intake via our diet. Foods such as rice, spinach, parsley, beetroot, raisins, carrots and tomatoes all contain silica and should be included regularly in the diet. However, elderly people, pregnant women, athletes, children, people in stressful occupations and people with a low vegetable diet often require additional amounts of silica.

Carbohydrate Restriction May Slow Prostate Tumor Growth

ScienceDaily (May 26, 2009) — Restricting carbohydrates, regardless of weight loss, appears to slow the growth of prostate tumors, according to an animal study being published this week by researchers in the Duke Prostate Center.

Previous work here and elsewhere has shown that a diet light in carbohydrates could slow tumor growth, but the animals in those studies also lost weight, and because we know that weight loss can restrict the amount of energy feeding tumors, we weren't able to tell just how big an impact the pure carbohydrate restriction was having, until now, said Stephen Freedland, M.D., a urologist in the Duke Prostate Center and lead investigator on this study.

There is so much media hype from the mainstream media and leading health authorities, including the naturopathic community, suggesting the many ill effects of consuming Trans Fatty Acids (TFA’s) that the topic of the Great Fat Debate deserves a closer look for the sake of our heath and understanding.

Whilst there is unanimous agreement that TFA’s are problematic and are to be avoided at all costs, some explanations are confusing at best or misleading at worst. It is time for more clarity so we can all choose the fats that are good and avoid those that are bad.

Vitamin A - what is it and what does it do ?

Vitamin
A (retinol, retinal, retinoic acid) is found in apricots, carrots
(through its precursor betacarotene), fish liver oils (cod, salmon,
halibut), green leafy vegetables, kohlrabi, liver, mint, egg yolk.

It
is a fat soluble antioxidant and therefore requires fats for proper
assimilation and absorption. Vitamin A is involved in steroid and
adrenocorticoid hormone synthesis, bone growth, controls gene
expression, increases resistance to infections, increases iron
utilisation for haemoglobin formation, vision, visual purple synthesis,
protects against epithelial carcinogenesis etc. [1]

(NaturalNews (index.php?option=com_content task=view id=71 Itemid=24)) In the judicial system, it is required that any defendant must be considered innocent until proven guilty. In the world of nutrition, it seems the opposite philosophy reigns. Saturated fats have been vilified for decades. It has been declared that these fats are killing us, although adequate proof has never been shown. Studies which show that saturated fat causes cardiovascular problems rarely take into account the harm caused by factors such as smoking, stress and eating large amounts of refined carbohydrates.

By DUFF WILSON (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/w/duff_wilson/index.html?inline=nyt-per)
Published: March 3, 2009 (New York Times)

Senator Charles E. Grassley on Tuesday asked the drug maker Pfizer to provide details of its payments to at least 149 faculty members at Harvard Medical School.

The senator, an Iowa Republican who is investigating the drug industry’s influence on the practice of medicine, also asked for any Pfizer e-mail, faxes, letters or photos regarding Harvard medical students who have protested drug company influence.

Mr. Grassley, in a letter to Pfizer (pdf/2009_03_03_Pfizer_letter.pdf) , wrote that he was “greatly disturbed” to read an article in The New York Times on Tuesday describing a Pfizer representative taking cellphone photographs of the medical students last October at a campus demonstration against industry influence. “I find this troubling as I have documented several instances where pharmaceutical companies have attempted to intimidate academic critics of drugs,” he wrote.

Does it make you feel “out of control” and emotional?

Many women accept premenstrual syndrome (PMS) as a normal part of life that they just have to deal with. This monthly mayhem does not have to be a part of life though! These monthly changes in mood, appetite, energy and sleep patterns are an annoying part of life and should not be considered “normal”.

Snappy, teary, tender and bloated?

In Australia, it is estimated that up to 70% of women experience PMS at some point in their life, with 18% of women suffering the most severe form of PMS; premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

(NaturalNews (http://www.naturalnews.com/z024616.html)) When a breastfeeding woman consumes trans-fats, she may be harming not only herself, but also passing on health problems to her child both as an infant and as an adult, according to a study conducted by researchers from the State University of Rio de Janeiro and published in the journal Nutrition.

Our data strongly suggest that trans fats ingestion during early life is particularly related to insulin resistance and to the consequent impairment of cardiac glucose metabolism in adulthood, the researchers wrote.

Trans fats are a variety of fat molecules that have no nutritional benefit to the body and are known to increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and death. The fats increase inflammation, the risk of endolethial dysfunction, and levels of LDL ( bad ) cholesterol, while lowering levels of HDL ( good ) cholesterol. While minute quantities of trans fats naturally...

(NaturalNews (http://www.naturalnews.com/z025441.html)) Research is continually showing the benefits of eating a diet high in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts and cabbage. These veggies have been proven to prevent all sorts of cancer, including breast cancer. The way in which the active compounds in cruciferous vegetables inhibit breast cancer cells has been largely unknown. Now a study at UC Santa Barbara has shown why they are so effective.

Breast cancer is currently the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women. Consuming too many dead foods that don't offer anything of value to the body is one of the root causes. Adding cruciferous vegetables to the diet can fight this epidemic form of cancer.

Three-day-old broccoli sprouts mobilize the body's natural cancer-fighting resources

Scientists at the John Hopkins School of Medicine have found a new and highly concentrated source of sulforaphane, a compound they identified in 1992 that helps mobilise the body's natural cancer-fighting resources and reduces risk of developing cancer. Three-day-old broccoli sprouts consistently contain 20 to 50 times the amount of chemo-protective compounds found in mature broccoli heads, and may offer a simple, dietary means of chemically reducing cancer risk, says Paul Talalay, M.D., J.J. Abel Distinguished Service Professor of Pharmacology.

The research suggested that broccoli can prevent the damage from ultraviolet light that often leads to skin cancer. And for those of you who can’t stand the stuff, you will surely appreciate that you would not even have to eat it!

Black Raspberries Kill Esophageal Cancer Cells

by Sherry Baker, Health Sciences Editor

(NaturalNews (http://www.naturalnews.com/z025395.html)) The adult esophagus is only about 10 to 13 inches long and three fourths of an inch across at its smallest point. However, this small muscular tube is a critical part of the digestive system. When you eat, your esophagus carries food and liquid from the mouth to the stomach. Cancer of the esophagus, also known as esophageal cancer, starts from its inner layer and grows outward on a deadly course. When it strikes, esophageal cancer is almost always fatal because it is usually diagnosed only at a late stage. According to the American Cancer Society, about 14,280 Americans died from the disease in 2008.

But there's good news about a way to fight this cancer. Scientists have found that a natural and delicious substance could help prevent the malignancy in the first place and kill cancer cells in the esophagus when they appear...

A Must See for Anyone with Cancer

This is an intensely researched DVD, containing
information that will absolutely astound the viewer. Much of the
information in this DVD has never been revealed before, and will cause
most viewers to seriously reevaluate the entire cancer issue. In this
2-hour video, Mike Anderson challenges the viewer with the following:
“If you think conventional treatments cure cancer…If you think diet
cannot cure cancer...THINK AGAIN!”

This spectacular 2-hour, thoroughly documented
video, will keep you riveted to the screen. It is divided into two
1-hour sections: Section (1) deals with the medical approach to cancer,
and provides devastating documentation, documentation clearly revealing
that current cancer treatments are not designed to cure cancer, but
rather to bring in tons of money to those in the cancer business.

Article from: The Australian (http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,24893755-2702,00.html)

THE ethics committee of an Australian university gave the green light to a study involving a trial of a new ADHD drug after being wrongly told by a researcher that the US Food and Drug Administration had dropped a black box warning that the drug brought an increased risk of suicidal thoughts.

It has also emerged that Curtin University failed to disclose to the parents of the children in the study the full extent of involvement in the study by Eli Lilly Australia, the multinational company that markets the drug, Strattera.

Concerns surrounding the conduct of the trial have emerged following a 15-month battle with the West Australian university and Eli Lilly to have details of the study released under Freedom of Information laws.

January 5, 2009

Elderly people receive no benefit from long-term use of many common medicines, and their health may even improve if they stop taking them, an Australian study has found.

Ceasing to take medicines such as sleeping pills and antidepressants improved people's mental abilities and reduced the likelihood of serious falls, according to the analysis by David Le Couteur, director of the Centre for Education and Research on Ageing at the University of Sydney.

In up to 85 per cent of people aged 65 or older, blood pressure was stable for six months to five years after withdrawal of blood pressure medicines, without any increase in the death rate.

Professor Le Couteur said his research was in some ways a politically motivated exercise intended to highlight the gulf between the results of drug company-sponsored trials and how elderly people actually fared on the same drugs.

Don’t Be Hesitant - Help For Prostate Enlargement Is Available

One of the most common health problems experienced by men is Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia or BPH. BPH is just a medical term that means a man’s prostate gland has become bigger than it should be. Because the prostate gland wraps around a part of the urinary tract, when it becomes enlarged, it actually presses on the tube that carries urine, altering the ability to pass urine.

(NaturalNews (http://www.naturalnews.com/z025192.html)) New research shows that the low-cost vitamin Thiamine (vitamin B1) reverses kidney damage in diabetics, restoring the ability of the kidneys to function without allowing proteins to spill over into the urine.

The finding proves that a very low-cost treatment is highly effective and could serve as a low-cost nutritional therapy for diabetics, ultimately saving tens of millions of dollars a year in medical treatment costs in the U.S. alone.

New Study Shows Natural Treatment Effective for Advanced Prostate Cancer

by Sherry Baker, Health Sciences Editor

(NaturalNews (http://www.naturalnews.com/z025161.html)) Could a natural substance effectively treat advanced prostate cancer? And could clinical trials of that potential cure be thwarted because drug companies know they can't make money out of a treatment that can't be patented? The answer to both those questions is yes .

A study just published in the December issue of the European medical journal Anticancer Research demonstrates for the first time a naturally-occurring substance used as a cough suppressant for over fifty years may be useful in treating advanced prostate cancer. Researchers from the Prostate Cancer Research and Educational Foundation, the MedInsight Research Institute, and the University of California in San Diego found that noscapine, a non-addictive derivative of opium, reduced tumor growth in mice by 60%. What's more, it halted the spread of tumors by 65% and caused no harmful side effects.

Do you only pay attention to your digestive system when there is a problem? Maybe after you have eaten a large meal and feel bloated? Or perhaps you pay attention to your digestive system only when you have had changes in bowel movements, like diarrhoea or constipation? If this is the case, some digestive support in the form of a probiotic could be useful!

Probiotics are “good bacteria” that help keep your digestive system in good condition. Digestive problems are often a sign that the bacteria in your digestive system are out of balance, and since your digestive system is the centre of health, it is extremely important that you keep it healthy!

As approximately 50% of pregnancies in industrialized countries like Canada are unplanned, there is a risk of unintended exposure to these medications. The study, conducted by researchers from Ottawa, Montreal, Saskatoon and Hunan, China looked at 14 982 women who had taken folic acid antagonists one year prior to delivery and 59 825 women who did not. Dr. Shi Wu Wen and co- researchers found that maternal exposure to folic acid antagonists was associated with a slightly higher risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes.

By Dr. Hulda Clark, Ph.D., N.D

Though
conventional wisdom has it that cancer is not like other diseases; that
it is a fire that cannot be controlled or contained; that the cancerous
organ must be radiated or cut out - nothing could be more wrong.

All
cancers are alike and all are caused by a single parasite (fasciolopsis
buskii), the same parasite that also causes HIV and AIDS. If you kill
the parasite, the cancer stops immediately and the tissues return to
normal. You must have this parasite in order to get cancer or AIDS.

The researchers took blood samples from the women before they ate, as well as 1.5, 3 and 4.5 hours afterward. They measured the antioxidant capacity of each blood sample, then exposed the blood cells to hydrogen peroxide and recorded the degree of oxidative damage suffered. The researchers found that kiwifruit had an antioxidant intake score of 12.5, substantially higher than the known score of 4.2 for grapes and 1.7 for strawberries.
Why Cancer comes back following Chemotherapy, Radiation and Surgery

By Mike Adams One
of the most common problems in cancer patients who choose to undergo
conventional cancer therapy is recurrence. They might think they have
beaten their cancer with chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery, only to
find a few years later that tumours have spread into other tissues --
usually the lungs, brain, or even the reproductive organs. Conventional
medicine has not yet caught on to what's happening here, but the reason
why this phenomenon occurs is quite simple: Conventional cancer
treatments only treat the symptoms of cancer (tumors or growths) and do
not actually do anything to help the patient regain a level of health
necessary to keep cancer in check.A tumour is
not technically a disease. It is a symptom of an underlying imbalance
in the patient. Unless you treat and reverse the underlying imbalances,
you will never eliminate the underlying cause of the cancer. You will
continue to see more tumours and complications, even if you are able to
treat the...

immediately. You know that chemotherapy will make you sick, your hair

You also realize that chances are your cancer will return after months

alternative medicine but your oncologist is against it and you know of
others who tried that route and died. What you may not know is this: Cancer
can be healed naturally, and is done so every day, but it takes more

Cancer Drugs Make Tumors Grow

by Sherry Baker(NaturalNews (http://www.naturalnews.com/z024828.html)) Drugs like Avastin that are used to treat some cancers are supposed to work by blocking a vessel growth-promoting protein called vascular endothelial growth factor, or VEGF. With VEGF held in check, researchers have assumed tumors wouldn't generate blood vessels and that should keep malignancies from growing. In a sense, the cancerous growths would be "starved". But new research just published in the journal Nature shows this isn't true. Instead of weakening blood vessels so they won't "feed" malignant tumors, these cancer treatments, known as anti-angiogenesis drugs, actually normalize and strengthen blood vessels -- and that means they can spur tumors to grow larger. For their study, researchers at the Moores Cancer Center at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in La Jolla, replicated the action of anti-angiogenesis drugs by genetically decreasing VEGF levels in mouse tumors and inflammatory cells in several types of cancers,...

This exponential increase in cancer mortality is due to tobacco smoking, marked dietary changes, and marked environmental pollution and the increase of chemicals in our diet. Almost every food we eat contains chemicals in the form of preservatives, insecticides, pesticides and fertilizers. All these chemicals are unfamiliar to our bodies and end up triggering imbalanced immune responses and causing cancers. In a balanced state, our body makes 30-40 cancer cells daily and our immune system produces killer cells, destroying them. The chemicals we use in our diets can prevent...

A Holistic Strategy Against Cancer

By Mary Laredo

In 1971, President Nixon declared a war on cancer. In the ensuing decades, tens of billions of dollars have been spent on the cause yet a cure by orthodox means remains elusive. By any standards this campaign has been a failed endeavour; or worse, a shameful fraud. Progress is a myth, and sustaining hope for the development of a safe and effective cancer drug is pointless. It's up to each individual to empower themselves with knowledge of the myriad ways to eradicate cancer without harming the body. Although it's easier to prevent cancer than to reverse it once it has taken hold, it is nevertheless reversible with holistic therapies that address imbalances of the body, mind and spirit. This is not an opinion; it is a statement of fact that's based on this author's first-hand experience.

Holistic strategies should be embraced by the cancer survivor as permanent lifestyle changes....

Why Hydrogenated Oils Should be Avoided at All Costs

by Rich Stacel

(NaturalNews (http://www.naturalnews.com/z024694.html))

All processed chemicals that are used in foods have seriously detrimental effects on human health and energy levels and have no place in the modern human diet

To highlight this, let's take hydrogenated oils and see what this substance really is and why it's so incredibly bad for you. Hydrogenated oils are oils that are often healthy in their natural state, but are quickly turned into poisons through the manufacturing and processing they undergo. They take these naturally healthy oils such as palm, kernel, soybean, corn oil or coconut oil and they heat it anywhere from five hundred to one thousand degrees under several atmospheres of pressure.

They then inject a catalyst into the oil for several hours. The catalyst is typically a metal such a nickel, platinum or even aluminum. As this bubbles up into the oil the molecular structure changes and increases in density and rearranges...

13 Urgent Suggestions for a Healthy USA

by Mike Adams(NaturalNews (http://www.naturalnews.com/z024705.html)) In an astonishing turn of events for a nation that seemed headed for certain economic destruction just weeks ago, Americans overwhelmingly chose Democratic candidates in yesterday's elections, selecting Obama as the next U.S. President and securing Democratic majorities in both the House and Senate. While virtually the entire world is now celebrating the close of the era of Bush tyranny, the question that's on everyone's mind today is: Ok, now what? For starters, in the last eight years, President George W. Bush has managed to leave behind a God-awful mess. The nation is embroiled in two wars, a cascading banking crisis, out-of-control debt spending, an unprecedented health care crisis, an environmental mess and an international relations reputation that's downright disastrous. Its economy is in serious trouble, its manufacturing base is all but gutted, and its citizens are far less free...

ScienceDaily (Nov. 4, 2008) — Researchers at the University at Buffalo have found that fetuses of obese mother rats were programmed in utero to develop obesity in adulthood. Moreover, they have shown for the first time that the metabolic programming occurs in the fetal hypothalamus, the area of the brain responsible for maintaining the body's energy homeostasis (body weight) throughout life.Levels of the hormones insulin and leptin also were elevated in fetuses of these obese mother rats, abnormalities that have been correlated with increased appetite and insulin resistance (a prelude to diabetes), as well as obesity and hypertension."Our earlier studies looked at newborn rats of the obese mothers in the post-weaning period, so we didn't know how early this programming occurred," said Mulchand Patel, Ph.D., UB Distinguished Professor of Biochemistry and senior author on the study. "Now we know it occurs in utero and specifically in the hypothalamus."While these...

ScienceDaily (Nov. 4, 2008) — Vitamin D is essential to good health but needs to be activated to function properly in the human body. Until recently, this activation was thought to happen primarily in the kidneys, but a new University of Iowa study finds that the activation step can also occur in lung airway cells. The study also links the vitamin D locally produced in the lung airway cells to activation of two genes that help fight infection. The study results appear in the Nov. 15 issue of the Journal of Immunology, now online. In addition to contributing to calcium absorption and bone health, vitamin D is increasingly recognized for its beneficial effects on the immune system. Vitamin D deficiency has been recently linked to increased risk of some infections, autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis and type 1 diabetes, and some cancers."The more scientists have been studying vitamin D,...

Adequate Vitamin D Could Save Thousands of Lives, Say Researchers

Thousands of cases of cancer could be averted if people in colder climates increased their blood levels of vitamin D,
according to authors of a paper in the August 2007 journal Nutrition Reviews. Numerous epidemiological and ecological studies
have shown increased cancer rates in higher latitudes around the world, especially colon, breast, and prostate cancers. With
higher latitude comes a lower exposure to ultraviolet light from the sun - a critical component of adequate vitamin D levels

But before cancer patients throw away their vitamin C supplements, they need to know rest of the story. Most of the media dutifully reported the researchers' claim that the equivalent of 2,000 mg of vitamin C "blunted the effectiveness of the chemotherapy drugs." But only some of the media included a study author's incredible statement that "If you take an oral dose even as low as 100 milligrams a day" even "that could be harmful" during chemotherapy (1)100 mg "could be harmful"? That's the amount of vitamin C in a few glasses of orange juice.
Fermented Wheat Germ Extract Beneficial in Cancer Therapy

by Jeremiah Smith (NaturalNews (http://www.naturalnews.com/z024484.html)) Wheat germ is the most nutritious part of the wheat kernel. In fact, it is one of the most nutritionally dense foods available. When subjected to yeast fermentation, wheat germ becomes a source of two biologically active substances: 2-methoxy-benzoquinone and 2,6-dimethoxy-benzoquinone. Following fermentation, the resulting product can be standardized to a benzoquinone concentration that is capable of producing the desired health effects.Investigation into the biochemical significance of fermented wheat germ began with Albert Szent-Györgyi. Szent-Györgyi was a Hungarian physiologist, credited with the isolation of vitamin C, and recipient of the 1937 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. He strongly believed in the idea of food as medicine. Szent-Györgyi noticed lower cancer rates among those who ate whole grains, compared to those eating mostly refined grains. This led him on a search to uncover the ingredient in wheat that might explain the observed cancer prevention....

New Guidelines Double Amount Of Recommended Vitamin D For Young

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is doubling the amount of vitamin D it recommends for infants, children and adolescents. The new clinical report, "Prevention of Rickets and Vitamin D Deficiency in Infants, Children, and Adolescents," recommends all children receive 400 IU a day of vitamin D, beginning in the first few days of life. The previous recommendation, issued in 2003, called for 200 IU per day beginning in the first two months of life. The change in recommendation comes after reviewing new clinical trials on vitamin D and the historical precedence of safely giving 400 IU per day to the pediatric population. Clinical data show that 400 units of vitamin D a day will not only prevent rickets, but treat it. This bone-softening disease is preventable with adequate vitamin D, but dietary sources of vitamin D are limited, and it is difficult to determine a safe amount of sunlight...

What is Resveratrol?

Resveratrol (zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info cPath=64 products_id=249) (trans-3,5,4'-trihydroxystilbene), belongs to a class of polyphenolic compounds called stilbenes , found largely in the skins of red grapes and root of Polygonum cuspidatum Sieb. et Zucc ( Japanese knotweed), is a component of Ko-jo-kon, an oriental medicine used to treat diseases of the blood vessels, heart and live.. Resveratrol (zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info cPath=64 products_id=249) is a fat-soluble compound that occurs in a trans and a cis configuration (see figure 1). Both cis- and trans-resveratrol also occur as glucosides (bound to a glucose molecule). Resveratrol-3-O-beta-glucoside is also called piceid.

Sources

While present in other plants, such as eucalyptus, spruce, and lily, and in other foods such as mulberries and peanuts, resveratrol's most abundant natural sources are Vitis vinifera, labrusca, and muscadine grapes, Polygonum cuspidatum Sieb.

by Mike Adams (NaturalNews (http://www.naturalnews.com/z024380.html)) In headlines around the world, Vitamin C is once again
under attack. The vitamin is extremely dangerous, researchers now say, because
it might "interfere with the toxic effects of chemotherapy." These mainstream
media articles, of course, are attempting to convince cancer patients to stop
taking vitamins that support health and, instead, allow chemotherapy to poison
their body's cells without any protection whatsoever for healthy cells.
But in stating that Vitamin C prevents chemotherapy chemicals from doing their
work (of poisoning cells), what they're really doing, in effect, is admitting
that Vitamin C is really, really good at protecting cells from free radical
damage."Vitamin C appears to protect the mitochondria from extensive
damage, thus saving the cell," said lead researcher Dr Mark Heaney. A BBC
article adds, "Vitamin C appeared to protect tiny structures inside the cancer cells called
mitochondria from damage."Why are these admissions...

Pesticides Linked to Miscarriage

About 19,000
foetal deaths occur in the United States each year, and the causes remain a significant
public health problem. Among known risk factors are smoking, advanced age among
pregnant women and previous history of fettle deaths.

In
the past, few epidemiological studies of pesticide exposure and birth defects
have considered timing of possible exposures. And now it appears pregnant women living close to farms where
pesticides are sprayed on fields may have an increased risk of having a foetus
die due to birth defects.

L-carnitine supplement may help infertile men

The widely-used dietary supplement, L-carnitine when combined with L-acetyl-carnitine, a related chemical, may improve sperm motility in men with fertility problems, according to new research by scientists at the University of Rome. The researchers chose 60 infertile men between the ages of 20 and 40 to take a combination of L-carnitine and L-acetyl-carnitine or a placebo for six months. The group, led by Dr Andrea Lenzi, reported in the medical journal Fertility and Sterility (http://www.asrm.org/Professionals/Fertility Sterility/fspage.html) , that two months after the patients had completed their course of supplements, the men who had taken L-carnitine and L-acetyl-carnitine (zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info cPath=68 products_id=60) had increased sperm concentration and movement. The most significant improvements in sperm motility, both forward and total, were observed in men who had the lowest levels of moving sperm when the study began. The researchers noted that four spontaneous pregnancies were achieved during the study by men who had...

Don't Get Cancer!

By Simon Mitchell One antidote to cancer is information... The World Health Organisation (W.H.O.) is promoting prevention as a better option than treatment and particularly targeting smoking as the highest recognisable risk area. The Cancer Research Institute (C.R.I.) is seeking vaccines that support the body's own ability to heal. Alternative and holistic approaches seek to do the same with diet, nutrition, lifestyle and other choices. Different philosophies of medicine achieve 'immune support' in various ways not considered by orthodox Western medicine, which concentrates mainly on 'drugs and surgery' as an afterthought to disease, often just adding more toxins and stress to an overloaded system. Alternative treatments take many forms to support the body in its own healing process. Although we have constant new biological treatments promised, they usually only apply to a small percentage of cancer types. Change in this field is agonisingly slow and in some cases...

The 11 Best Foods You Aren't Eating

Nutritionist and author Jonny Bowden has created several lists of healthful foods people should be eating but aren't. But some of his favourites, like purslane, guava and goji berries, aren't always available at regular grocery stores. This revised list contains foods that are easy to find but don't always find their way into our shopping carts... BEETS Think of beets as red spinach, Dr. Bowden said, because they are a rich source of folate as well as natural red pigments that may be cancer fighters. How to eat: Fresh, raw and grated to make a salad. Heating decreases the antioxidant power. CABBAGE Loaded with nutrients like sulforaphane, a chemical said to boost cancer-fighting enzymes. How to eat: Asian-style slaw or as a crunchy topping on burgers and sandwiches. SWISS CHARD A leafy green vegetable packed with carotenoids that protect aging eyes. How to eat it: Chop and saute in olive...

The Truth About Saturated Fat (Part 1)

Part 1 of 3

By Mary Enig, PhD, and Sally Fallon

Fats from animal and vegetable sources provide a concentrated source of energy in the diet; they also provide the building blocks for cell membranes and a variety of hormones and hormonelike substances. Fats as part of a meal slow down absorption so that we can go longer without feeling hungry. In addition, they act as carriers for important fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K. Dietary fats are needed for the conversion of carotene to vitamin A, for mineral absorption and for a host of other processes.

Politically Correct Nutrition is based on the assumption that we should reduce our intake of fats, particularly saturated fats from animal sources. Fats from animal sources also contain cholesterol, presented as the twin villain of the civilized diet.

Short-chain fatty acids have four to six carbon atoms. These fats are always saturated. Four-carbon butyric acid is found mostly in butterfat from cows, and six-carbon capric acid is found mostly in butterfat from goats. These fatty acids have antimicrobial properties-that is, they protect us from viruses, yeasts and pathogenic bacteria in the gut. They do not need to be acted on by the bile salts but are directly absorbed for quick energy. For this reason, they are less likely to cause weight gain than olive oil or commercial vegetable oils. [27] Short-chain fatty acids also contribute to the health of the immune system. [28] Medium-chain fatty acids have eight to...

Butter is America's best source of these important nutrients. In fact, vitamin A is more easily absorbed and utilized from butter than from other sources. [61] Fortunately, these fat-soluble vitamins are relatively stable and survive the pasteurization process. When Dr. Weston Price studied isolated traditional peoples around the world, he found that butter was a staple in many native diets.
Having a baby is a precious gift and conceiving should be an easy, natural process. Sadly for many couples it is an extremely distressing experience as they struggle to conceive and/or maintain a pregnancy. The causes of infertility are many and varied, and affect both females and males. Sometimes the man’s sperm count is too low; sometimes there is a hormonal imbalance in one or both partners; sometimes lifestyle factors such as diet, alcohol or smoking are at fault; and sometimes there may be no obvious reason at all. From a holistic, natural perspective, difficulty conceiving can be due to issues such as stress, toxicity, nutritional deficiencies and/or hormonal imbalances. Are you too stressed to conceive? Is stress making it difficult for you to conceive? Have you ever noticed that it is often when a couple stops trying to conceive, and they start to relax, that they fall pregnant? The...

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 800 people in the United States have gotten sick from drinking raw milk or eating cheese made from raw milk since 1998.""Raw milk is milk from cows, sheep, or goats that has not been pasteurized to kill harmful bacteria. This raw, unpasteurized milk can carry dangerous bacteria such as Salmonella, E. coli, and Listeria, which are responsible for causing numerous illnesses.""These harmful bacteria can seriously affect the health of anyone who drinks raw milk, or eats foods made from raw milk.
Article adapted from Dr MercolaDr.
Donald W. Miller, a cardiac surgeon and Professor of Surgery at the
University of Washington in Seattle, shares impressive research
findings on the cancer-fighting properties of selenium. As
scientists have now determined, cells of all organisms, whether
bacterial, animal, or non-animal, need selenium for proper functioning.Selenium deficiency has been linked to a wide variety of disorders and diseases, including:
Hypothyroidism Cognitive decline Cancer (including lung, prostate, colorectal, skin) Heart failure Coronary artery disease (atherosclerosis) The
Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA), as set by the U.S. Food and
Nutrition Board, is 55 mcg of selenium per day, based on two studies
that show this amount of selenium supports the optimal generation of
glutathione peroxidase. This is believed to be adequate for 98 percent
of the population. However,
this government recommendation did not take into account a previous
finding that shows a dose four times higher (200 mcg) to have an
anti-cancer effect, without being toxic.

Dr Johanna Budwig Diet

The Flaxseed (Linseed) oil diet was originally proposed by Dr. Johanna Budwig, a German biochemist and expert on fats and oils, in 1951 and recently re-examined by Dr. Dan C. Roehm M.D. FACP (Oncologist and former cardiologist) in 1990. Dr. Roehm claims: "This diet is far and away the most successful anti-cancer diet in the world".

Budwig claims that the diet is both a preventative and a curative. She says the absence of linol-acids [in the average western diet] is responsible for the production of oxydase, which induces cancer growth and is the cause of many other chronic disorders.

The beneficial oxydase ferments are destroyed by heating or boiling oils in foods, and by nitrates used for preserving meat, etc.The theory is: the use of oxygen in the organism can be stimulated by protein compounds of sulphuric content, which make oils water-soluble and which is present in cheese, nuts, onion and...

Mineral Therapy

About Active
Elements® Mineral Element Therapy

The Active Elements®
System is based upon the belief that many health issues stem from
mineral element imbalances within the body. These imbalances can
occur for a variety of reasons, ranging from modern agricultural
practises, to poor diet and stress.

Because most times
these imbalances remain undetected, the Active Elements®
online Assessment System provides a simple, quick and non-invasive
way to determine any imbalances that may exist.

The Active Elements®
Concept in a nutshell

The Active Elements®
system is based upon the mineral salts Potassium phosphate, Potassium
sulphate, Potassium chloride, Sodium chloride, Sodium phosphate,
Sodium sulphate, Calcium phosphate, Calcium sulphate, Calcium
fluoride, Magnesium phosphate, Iron phosphate and Silicon dioxide.
Each of these inorganic mineral salts is made-up of positively and
negatively charged elements. The positively charged element is called
the 'Cation', and the negatively charged element is called the
'Anion'. Through electrical attraction these two elements are bound
together to form a 'Mineral Salt'.

Science generally
(and most practitioners too) only consider the role that the 'cation'
plays in...

Enzyme Therapy for Cancer Prevention and Treatment

by Mary Laredo
(NaturalNews (http://www.naturalnews.com/022452.html) ) Enzymes are molecules that act as catalysts for all chemical reactions within the body and are necessary to sustain life. There are two basic categories: digestive enzymes which work in the stomach breaking down food particles before their nutrients can be absorbed, and metabolic (or systemic) enzymes whose primary work begins in the bloodstream digesting foreign debris before traveling to bodily tissues to continue this and other functions. A chronic deficiency of enzymes weakens the immune system, contributes to illness, and ultimately promotes diseases such as cancer. Both enzyme types are produced in the body but are also present in raw foods and through oral supplementation. To achieve and maintain optimum health, an adequate supply of both forms is fundamental.

There are twenty-two different types of enzymes produced in the body, primarily by the pancreas, and this production diminishes as we age (1). The...

Healing Cancer With Juice

By Bob Davis
Virtually any improvement in the diet which includes more fresh fruits and vegetables is detoxifying. When the diet mostly consists of fresh fruits and vegetables, especially if it is concentrated in a program such as Juice Fasting which is a powerful detoxification method, the results are usually immediate and dramatic. Similar results may be had by taking only water for an extended period of time. However, water fasting does not provide the healing nutrition required for a body to replace faulty cells with healthy ones. It is recommended that a person contemplating an extensive detoxification program should place themselves under the supervision of a nutritionist. This should not be confused with a dietitian. For the purposes of this writing, a dietitian is one who follows the basic guidelines of the typical food pyramid, which is a one-size-fits-all plan which includes certain amounts of dairy products, meat, fruits,...

by

(NaturalNews (http://www.naturalnews.com/z023286.html) ) For well over half a century we have been
promised by mainstream medicine that a cure or major breakthrough for cancer was
just around the corner. Every year we see promising new drugs and therapies
announced. Yet every year we also see more people contract cancer and more
people die of cancer.

Instead of focusing on natural and safe methods of
prevention and treatment, we continue to treat by using surgery, chemotherapy
and radiation to cut out, poison out and burn out the symptoms of cancer while
leaving the underlying causes untreated -- and we continue to largely ignore the
role that proper diet, nutrition and lifestyle plays in preventing and helping
cure cancer.

Although surgery does have some success against a limited
number of cancers, chemo and radiation achieve at best a 3% increase in length

(NaturalNews (http://www.naturalnews.com/001812.html))
A new study published in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Mile Markers,
and Prevention is presenting evidence of the link between the
consumption of refined carbohydrates and cancer. This case-controlled
study looked at the dietary habits of over 1,800 women in Mexico, and
found that those who got 57% or more of their total energy intake from
carbohydrates showed a 220% higher risk of breast cancer than women
with more balanced diets.

This study shows that foods with high
glycemic index values -- that is, foods that more quickly raise blood
sugar levels in the human body -- actually accelerate the growth of
cancer cells and tumors in the human body. Researchers involved with
the study propose that the correlation between the consumption of

It was thought cancer cells stayed put until advanced stages of the disease
Apparently "normal" cells may carry
cancer to new sites long before a tumour develops, lying dormant until
key genes are activated, experts say.
US researchers say their findings, published in
Science, could explain why some breast cancers lead to new tumours long
after the disease is treated. Secondary, or metastatic, cancers are responsible for the majority of deaths from the disease.
UK experts said it was essential to know more about how the cancer spreads.

It has traditionally been thought that the spread of cancer to
another site in the body was a late event that only occurred when a
disease was advanced. Cancer cells had been thought to have stayed

by Barbara L.
Cancer Research: A Super Fraud?

Have you ever wondered why, despite the billions of dollars spent on
cancer research over many decades, and the constant promise of a cure which is
forever "just around the corner", cancer rates continue to increase? Robert
Ryan, B.Sc explores the reasons why.By Robert Ryan, B.Sc.
CANCER IS INCREASING Once quite rare, cancer is
now the second major cause of death in Western countries such as Australia, the
U.S.A. and the United Kingdom. In the early 1940s cancer accounted for 12% of
Australian deaths. (1) By 1992 this figure had climbed to 25.9% of Australian
deaths. (2) The increasing trend of cancer deaths and incidence is typical of
most Western nations. It has been said that this increase in cancer is just due
to the fact that people now live longer than their ancestors did, and that
therefore the increase of cancer is merely due to the fact that...

Diet and Disease

By Edward Esko

There is now an increasing volume of evidence linking the way we eat with our physical and mental health, leading to a widespread and growing interest, among both medical professionals and the public at large, in applying diet as a solution to the modern health crisis.

There is no question that our health needs have changed over the last eighty years. At the turn of the century, the most important diseases in the United States were infectious diseases such as influenza, tuberculosis, and pneumonia. Since then, the incidence of infectious disease has declined. However, during the same time, the rate of chronic illnesses, such as cancer, heart disease, and diabetes, has risen substantially.

To the contrary, it is a delightful guide for keeping him around - and
the rest of the family, too - for many years of health and vigor. Nutritionist
and former FDA toxicologist and pharmacologist June de Spain has
compiled 300 taste-tested recipes rich in natural sources of vitamin

Top Ten Spices That Defend You Against Aging

Herbs and spices are rich in antioxidants, and they are also potent inhibitors of tissue damage and inflammation caused by high levels of blood sugar.
When researchers tested extracts from 24 common herbs and spices, they found a direct correlation between antioxidant phenol content and the ability of the extracts to block the formation of compounds that contribute to damage caused by diabetes and aging.
Spices such as cloves and cinnamon have phenol levels that are 30 percent and 18 percent of dry weight, respectively, while herbs such as oregano and sage are 8 and 6 percent phenol by dry weight. Blueberries, which are widely touted for their antioxidant capabilities, contain roughly 5 percent phenol by dry weight.

Don’t Fall Prey To False Hope!

It is a common misconception that alternative cancer treatments
are nothing but FALSE HOPE. Whereas, in reality, it is
CONVENTIONAL medicine that puts out huge amounts of false hope.
A great deal of evidence indicates that alternative methods for
cancer are often a lot more effective at bringing about long-term cures than
conventional methods -- and with no negative side effects! However, most
mainstream doctors believe that the ONLY effective approaches to cancer
are those they have to offer in their conventional arsenal.
Since they believe their approaches are the only choices you
have, they will often NOT tell you the truth about your chances for
recovery. In other words, even though they may KNOW their treatments cannot cure
you, they will not always tell you that when they administer their treatments to
you because they don’t think you have any other options anyway! In other words,
conventional doctors often give...

Organic Similac: Formula for Obesity?

by Joanne Waldron (NaturalNews (http://www.naturalnews.com/z023796.html) ) Most mothers know that breast milk is best for baby, but there are some people who, perhaps for health reasons, need to find a safe alternative. In many instances, these moms look for an organic infant formula and are willing to pay top dollar to give their babies the best possible nutrition. Sadly, just because an infant formula is given the "organic" label doesn't necessarily mean that it is healthy. For example, a recent article in The New York Times revealed that the organic version of Similac infant formula is sweetened with cane sugar (sucrose) and is much sweeter than other infant formulas. While all infant formulas have some added sugars to aid in the digestion of proteins, other organic products use sugars like organic lactose, which is presumably a better match for what's found in breast milk and doesn't have the sweetness of...

Soy reduces sperm count, says study

Herald-Sun, Melbourne, Australia
From correspondents in Washington
July 30, 2008 09:22am

EATING
or drinking a lot of products containing soy and isoflavones can result
in reduced sperm count among men, a Harvard study has shown.

"There has been a lot of interest on whether soy
affects fertility because many studies in animals suggest that this is
the case, but there are very few studies in humans," said researcher
and lead study author Jorge Chavarro from the university's School of
Public Health .

"This is only the third study to look at whether soy
food has a relationship with fertility in humans and the first one to
find an association in agreement to the animal studies," he said.

Soy contains isoflavones, an organic compound which
acts like female hormones and appears to impede a man's ability to
produce sperm.

"Isoflavones are structurally similar to estrogen and can mimic the action of oestrogen in the body," said Mr Chavarro.

"Soy is expected to have...

Vitamin D Analysis Shows Reduced Overall Mortality
Authors of a recent journal article in the Archives of Internal Medicine found a significant reduction in all-cause mortality
in people who supplemented with vitamin D. The meta-analysis studied 18 randomized, controlled studies involving over 57,000
individuals over a mean of 5.7 years. With an average daily supplemental dose of 528 IU, people who took vitamin D for at
least three years had an eight-percent reduction in mortality. The mechanism(s) by which vitamin D is protective are not
known; however, lower vitamin D levels have been demonstrated to be correlated with increased risk of death from heart
disease, cancers, and diabetes. It may be that vitamin D's anti-proliferative and immune-regulating effects will be found to
be the predominant mechanisms. "Given the high probability of benefit for at least some of the many conditions that have been
associated with vitamin D deficiency, and the...

by David Gutierrez (NaturalNews (http://www.naturalnews.com/023705.html)) Sticking more closely to a Mediterranean diet may lead to a longer life, according to a new study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine. The researchers say that the study is the first to examine a connection between the diet and mortality in a U.S. population.Researchers examined data on more than 160,000 women and 200,000 men who had filled out detailed questionnaires about their eating habits, weight, age, smoking status and other factors known to affect health. The researchers then ranked participants based on how closely they held to either a traditional Mediterranean diet or an alternate Mediterranean diet.Participants scored higher for adherence to a traditional Mediterranean diet if they ate more fruits and nuts, grains, beans, fish and vegetables (excluding potatoes), and if they ate less dairy, meat or saturated fat. Those who drank a moderate amount of alcohol, defined as five...

Here are some useful resources to assist your goal of conceiving and sustaining a healthy pregnancyPregnant Women Walk Omega-3 / Mercury TightropeEating
more fish during pregnancy can improve brain function of children,
according to a new study. Women who ate more than two servings of fatty
fish per week had children who, at age three, performed better on
cognitive and motorskills tests. However, women who had higher mercury
levels in pregnancy, had children with lower test scores. The
problem is that women who had high mercury levels also consumed more
fish. This conundrum is what prevents many women from getting enough
omega-3 fatty acids in their diet while pregnant. In fact, the US FDA
recommends pregnant women not eat any shark, king mackerel, tilefish,
or swordfish because of increased levels of mercury in these fish. It
may be more feasible that women take a pure fish oil supplement in pregnancy rather than eat potentially contaminated fish.Reference: Oken

Natural Fertility and Preconception Care

Natural Fertility Preconception Health Care Why Preconception Health Care? The
combined evidence of many eminent researchers shows that conditions
such as subfertility, miscarriage, low birth weight, premature birth,
malformation, breast-feeding difficulties, handicap, hyperactivity,
learning problems, asthma, eczema, and poor resistance to infection,
are often preventable. How?By attending to the health and lifestyle of both prospective parents before they conceive a child! Put
simply, preconception health care aims to ensure that there is an
adequate supply of all those nutritional factors which are essential
for the health of sperm, ova and foetus and an absence of those factors
which are known to compromise general health or which are harmful to
germ cells and to foetal development. Since ova (eggs) are susceptible
to damage for 100 days before ovulation and since sperm formation takes
approximately 116 days, the pregnancy preparation for both prospective
parents should be for a minimum period of four months before an
intended conception. Some issues a couple can address...

Cancer - History

In our present times there is hardly one person in
the Western World who has not been affected by cancer, be it
themselves, a relative or a friend.

Cancer has been a reality since the "The Year Dot".
Humans have developed cancerous cells for centuries. All of us are
producing these malignant cells on a day to day basis, somewhere
between 100 and 10,000 cells daily. If we are fortunate enough that our
immune system is in a strong state, and if our exposure to toxic
substances remains generally low, then our immune system can easily
deal with the cancerous cells before they are able to multiply to a
larger extent.Building a resolute and strong
immune system is not achieved overnight. Those of us whose parents had
such a good immune system, are at a distinct advantage. Their strong
genes are passed on to the offspring. If the young growing children are
nurtured through their childhood by a) superior nutrition and b) low
exposure...

As we have seen earlier, our toxic load has dramatically and steadily increased over the last 100 years. Within
the same time frame the quality of our foods has been on the decline.
These days most so called "foods" are highly processed and are
available in packet form incorporating a myriad of preservatives and
additives, let alone the use of genetically modified (GM) "foods"
rendering them virtually useless. This

Cancer - Nutritional Factors

A
solid immune system must be constantly nourished through the intake of
basic nutrients. The food we eat can "make you or break you" - it is
like putting the right or wrong kind of petrol and oil in your car.
Your car may still run for some time on the wrong petrol and without
servicing. But at some stage you may be forced to call your road-assist
service because your car won't move any longer. Our
body is designed to function properly through the intake of
uncontaminated, unadulterated and bio-dynamically grown foods
containing all essential minerals, vitamins, amino acids and good fats.
Clean water (without additives) and sufficient fresh air is a
necessity. Your foods should deliver good proteins, fats, complex
carbohydrates and fibre. Excessive or
insufficient intake of any of the previously mentioned food groups
invariably is detrimental to your health. For example, without water we
become dehydrated whereas too much water can drown us. Anything that
reacts biochemically with our bodies is...

About
2400 BC one "smart" person once said that all diseases begin in the gut
- - our digestive system. This person was Hippocrates. His therory
still holds true (to a great extent) up until today. The digestive
system is an integral part of our first line of defence and therefore
instrumental in our immunity

A healthy and
strong immune system therefore largely depends on a well functioning
gut. A strong immune system will defend you against any disease
including bacteria, viruses, and fungi.

How do you know if your digestive system is functioning properly?

You can check for the following symptoms (remember this: symptoms are "good" - they are telling us a story):
excessive wind bloating "griping" (colic like) pains around your lower abdomen diarrhoea or alternating constipation / diarrhoea

pale stools undigested food in your stools (other than corn kernels) mucus or...

By Frank RiegelAt first glance the connection between health and politics appears to be somewhat strange.

However, if we are looking a bit deeper into this matter, then the connection between health and politics appears real and very strong. Numerous doctors, researchers and even scientists have highlighted this subject (in detail) over many decades. This connection between health and politics is based on one single pillar - MONEY. Rather
than trying to re-write what has been widely published in various
publications, I leave you with the opportunity to look at these links:

Still drinking Coca-Cola ?

This article appeared on 12 June 2008 in our local newspaper (Berwick News):
A 29 year old mother of three children drank up to 36 (thirtysix ! - no error...) litres of Coca-Cola per day for 6 years. Doctors had told her to stop drinking the substance or she would die.
She has since lost two layers of her stomach lining, was diagnosed with several gastric ulcers, had 11 gallstones removed by key hole surgery and also lost the majority of her teeth. Any teeth that didn’t fall out have now turned black.
Read the full story here or download a newspaper clipping (in PDF format).
If you are still drinking Coca-Cola then think again. Even smaller amounts will do you harm - it just takes a bit longer......

Modern Medicine: A Major Cause of Chronic Disease (Part 1)

By Walter Last
I do not want to pretend that this is an impartial investigation. Instead I am now fully convinced that most chronic diseases are caused by the medical system, and in the following I want to state my reasons for this conclusion.
Increasingly over the years my health beliefs have been turned around. I started out by working as a biochemist and toxicologist in university medical departments fully believing that all our chronic and incurable diseases are indeed incurable. Even if the origin of the disease is unknown I believed pharmaceutical drugs made life easier for patients and often were even curative. My re-education started after immigrating to New Zealand and learning about natural healing and living; this made me realise that disease is mainly caused by unnatural living conditions and can be overcome by natural methods of living and healing.
During this period I learned about the...

Magnesium Deficiency Increases Cancer Risk Significantly

by Mark Sircus Ac., OMD

There
is a power and a force in magnesium that cannot be equalled anywhere
else in the world of medicine. There is no substitute for magnesium in
human physiology; nothing comes even close to it in terms of its effect
on overall cell physiology. Without sufficient magnesium, the body
accumulates toxins and acid residues, degenerates rapidly, and ages
prematurely. It goes against a gale wind of medical science to ignore
magnesium chloride used transdermally in the treatment of any chronic
or acute disorder, especially cancer.

Magnesium repletion produced rapid disappearance of the periosteal tumours.

Aleksandrowicz
et al in Poland conclude that inadequacy of Mg (Magnesium) and
antioxidants are important risk factors in predisposing to leukemias.
Other researchers found that 46% of the patients admitted to an ICU
(Intensive Care Unit) in a tertiary cancer centre presented
hypomagnesemia.

They concluded
that the incidence of hypomagnesemia in critically ill cancer patients
is high. In animal studies we find that Mg deficiency has caused
lymphopoietic...

Mineral Therapy

Therapy Background

The
Active Elements® formulas combine homoeopathically prepared minerals
with small physical amounts of the same minerals where practical. The
12 minerals used in the Active Elements® formulas are prepared and used
according to principles that date back to the 1800's. These minerals
have been in constant use since that time, which makes them one of the
few therapies to survive the test of time. They therefore form part of
what is generally referred to as ‘Traditional Medicine’.

The
introduction of the Active Elements® concept has transformed this
previously successful but complicated and confusing therapy into one
that is now accessible to people who would normally choose
‘Conventional’ rather than ‘Complementary’ and ‘Alternative’ Medicine.
The Active Elements® concept was developed to assist consumers who wish
to maintain some measure of choice and control over their own health
care. The principle that underpins the...

Hundreds of millions of people worldwide (100 million in the USA) again have their health and lives put at risk in order to increase profits for the drug companies!

Newly released information about the study with Vitorin, a widely prescribed cholesterol lowering drug, reveals that the drug does nothing to reduce plaque build up in the arteries. Just the opposite – using Vitorin doubled plaque growth and led to an increase in heart attacks and strokes. The study, conducted on 720 patients (most in the Netherlands) with high blood cholesterol levels, tested the effects of Vitorin (a multi-drug combining Zocor, a statin which inhibits cholesterol production in the liver; and Zetia, a drug that inhibits cholesterol absorption in the intestine). Although Vitorin lowered cholesterol levels in the blood by about 20% more than Zocor alone, it did not...

by Roni Ellison
(NewsTarget) It would seem, according to the journal of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology, that children with diets over 40 grams (1/3 cup) of 'fruity vegetables' such as cucumber, tomato, eggplant, green bean and zucchini, were less likely to suffer with symptoms of childhood asthma.
The study, which was conducted on 460 children in Menorca, Spain from birth to age 6 and 1/2 years, also showed that children who ate 60 or more grams (about 2 ounces) of omega-3 containing fish were less likely to suffer 'atopy' - inherited childhood allergies.
It is believed that due to the high antioxidant and anti-inflammatory nature of the vegetables and fish, these foods produce a protective and healing effect on the bronchial passageways.
According to the lead author of the study, Dr. Leda Chatzi, "The biological mechanisms that underlie the protective affect of these foods is not fully understood, but we believe...

17 Oct 2007
Vitamin D supplements may lower your risk of dying from any cause, according to a new European study.
Researchers from the European Institute of Oncology in Milan, Italy, and the International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyon, France, reviewed 18 trials of more than 57,000 people.
The trials involved doses of vitamin D ranging from 300 international units (IUs) to 2,000 IUs. The average dose was 528 IUs.
After a period of six years, the data showed that people who took vitamin D supplements had a 7 percent lower risk of death compared to people who did not take the supplements.
Further, according to the nine trials that collected blood samples, people who took vitamin D supplements had a 1.4- to 5.2-fold higher level of vitamin D in their blood than those who did not.
Because vitamin D can reduce the proliferation of cells, which occurs in cancer, the researchers...

(NewsTarget) Goji berries, goji juice, and snack bars and other products containing goji berries have become increasing popular over the past two years or so. Part of this is because some celebrities are reportedly consuming (and raving about) them, and part is due to their legendary health-promoting properties. Once only found in health food stores in the U.S. and Western Europe, goji berries are now appearing in a few supermarkets.

Is Sugar More Addictive Than Cocaine?

23 Aug 2007 According
to a new research study, refined sugar is far more addictive than
cocaine -- one of the most addictive and harmful substances currently
known. An astonishing 94 percent of rats who were
allowed to choose mutually-exclusively between sugar water and cocaine,
chose sugar. Even rats who were addicted to cocaine quickly switched
their preference to sugar, once it was offered as a choice. The rats
were also more willing to work for sugar than for cocaine. The
researchers speculate that the sweet receptors (two protein receptors
located on the tongue), which evolved in ancestral times when the diet
was very low in sugar, have not adapted to modern times’ high-sugar
consumption.Therefore, the abnormally high
stimulation of these receptors by our sugar-rich diets generates
excessive reward signals in the brain, which have the potential to
override normal self-control mechanisms, and thus lead to addiction.Additionally,
their research found that there’s also a cross-tolerance and a
cross-dependence between sugars and addictive drugs. As an example,
animals with...

Do you need to detox?

By Ilse Marie Issels
The human body possesses self-regulatory mechanisms which are self-healing. A healthy body is capable of eliminating the toxic substances generated by its normal functioning and imposed on it by an unnatural life style. If the production of toxic metabolites and the ingestion of toxic substances overwhelms the organs of detoxification and excretion, the body stores these substances in the connective tissues which become impeded in their important tasks of regulation and defence. Malaise results and signals us that the body is trying to get rid of toxins and needs help to help itself. Our first aid to the body is to relieve it from the burden of waste and toxic substances so that its regulatory self-healing mechanisms can function again. Experience has taught us that an impairment of the basic regulatory processes can lead to the "regulatory freeze" which is typical in cancer. In this case...
